Cummins P4500Comments (0)

The Cummins P4500 is a popular model largely due to its strong output, lengthy endurance, and portability features. This is excellent for emergency and standby use at the home. With the wheel kit, this generator is very mobile and can provide reliable power in diverse settings. Overall, this is an excellent choice for those looking for a durable mid-size portable generator at an affordable price.

The P4500 is powered by a large 337 cc OHV engine. Its 11 hp can produce 4500 watts of peak power and 4000 watts of rated output. It operates at a 50 Hz frequency and a voltage of 230. The noise level is 76 dBA which is a little louder than many models; however, it should be easily tolerable in most environments. There is also a 12V 8.3 amp DC output for charging batteries. This is a convenient feature common to many smaller models; however, this is rarely found on larger size generators. Since the P4500 is more of a mid-sized model it is definitely an advantage that it still comes with it. Many comparable models do not offer this feature.

When oil levels get too low, the engine is at high risk for overheating. This is a very common cause of costly engine damage. This model ensures that this will not occur with its automatic shut down system that completely ceases operation if adequate oil is not present in the machine. In addition the P4500 has a dual element air cleaner, circuit breakers, and a integral battery tray. It has a manual start feature that is extremely easy to use. Many prefer the electric start option which is not available on this model, yet even the manual system is very simple and saves a lot of money. The fuel tank is quite large at 24.6 liters. The OHV is also very efficient allowing for lengthy runtimes. This model can operate continuously for 10 hours @ rated load. This is definitely a plus because although refueling is obviously not very difficult it does cause a delay. The engine must cool before more fuel is added and depending on conditions then can be a setback. But, at 10 hours this can definitely get a full day’s job done!

The P4500 is backed with a 2 year limited warranty standard to most models made by Cummins. This definitely offers a comforting peace of mind; however, these generators are very reliable and are built to last.

Cummins P2600Comments (0)

The Cummins P2600 is a 50 Hz portable generator similar to the P2200 model. The P2600 has a slightly shorter runtime, yet offers more power. Consumers that are looking for that extra wattage without spending a lot should consider the P2600. This model is perfect for emergency or standby use at the home. Its highly mobile design and the highly recommended (optional) wheel kit makes this power supply well suited for transport and operation in diverse settings.

The 6.5 hp 196 cc OHV engine produces a max AC output of 2600 watts and a rated power of 2500 watts. The P2600 also operates at 230V and features a 12V 8.3 amp DC output. This increase in AC power from the P2200 model adds versatility when considering potential uses; however, it does use a little more fuel. Like the P2200, the P2600 has a large 15 liter fuel tank which supports operation for up to 8 hours. Its all about what you as a consumer are seeking, the P2200 for endurance and the P2600 for power.

This model is fairly quiet at 68 dBA. This is the same noise level as the P2200 despite the larger output. This primarily due to both models having the same size engine with generally the same features. While some models are a little quieter, most are in this range if not louder.

The P2600 features a safety system which determines when the oil level reaches unacceptable standards that threat overheating and then shuts off the generator to prevent any engine damage. This model also has full circuit breaker protection and a cast iron cylinder sleeve for durability. In addition, there is a dual element air cleaner and a manual starting system.

The P2600 comes insured with a 2 year limited warranty.

Cummins P5000eComments (0)

The P5000e from Cummins is similar to the P4500 but has a larger engine and therefore offers more power. This model brings 5500 watts of peak power to the table and this is enough to support most applications. It is ideal for home use as standby power, its portability options make it excellent to serve as a emergency power supply, and due to its large output it can even handle some small scale commercial uses. If you are looking for a generator with all the assets at a great price, this is definitely a worthy candidate.

The P5000e is powered by a 389 cc 13 hp OHV engine capable of producing 5500 watts max and 5000 watts rated. It operates on 230 volts and at a 50 Hz frequency. There is also a 12V DC 8.3 amp DC output. The engine produces a 76 dBA noise level which is a little loud but should not cause any disturbances.

It has a 24.6 gallon fuel tank. This is the same size as the P4500; however, the P4500 has a longer runtime because of its smaller engine. The extra power brings runtimes for the P5000e to about 9 hours of continuous use @ rated load.

In addition to the standard manual start there is an electric start feature. This electric start definitely adds convenience. The manual function is not necessarily that hard actually it is quite simple. Yet, the electric offers reliability and ensures fast, easy start up every time. It also features a dual element air cleaner, circuit breakers, integral battery tray, and a cast iron cylinder sleeve.

The P5000e is also insured with a 2 year limited warranty from Cummins. In addition, they also offer 24/7 customer service.
