Cummins P5000e

The P5000e from Cummins is similar to the P4500 but has a larger engine and therefore offers more power. This model brings 5500 watts of peak power to the table and this is enough to support most applications. It is ideal for home use as standby power, its portability options make it excellent to serve as a emergency power supply, and due to its large output it can even handle some small scale commercial uses. If you are looking for a generator with all the assets at a great price, this is definitely a worthy candidate.

The P5000e is powered by a 389 cc 13 hp OHV engine capable of producing 5500 watts max and 5000 watts rated. It operates on 230 volts and at a 50 Hz frequency. There is also a 12V DC 8.3 amp DC output. The engine produces a 76 dBA noise level which is a little loud but should not cause any disturbances.

It has a 24.6 gallon fuel tank. This is the same size as the P4500; however, the P4500 has a longer runtime because of its smaller engine. The extra power brings runtimes for the P5000e to about 9 hours of continuous use @ rated load.

In addition to the standard manual start there is an electric start feature. This electric start definitely adds convenience. The manual function is not necessarily that hard actually it is quite simple. Yet, the electric offers reliability and ensures fast, easy start up every time. It also features a dual element air cleaner, circuit breakers, integral battery tray, and a cast iron cylinder sleeve.

The P5000e is also insured with a 2 year limited warranty from Cummins. In addition, they also offer 24/7 customer service.
