Cummins P5000eComments (0)

Filed under: Cummins — ltcobretti @ 5:09 am

The P5000e from Cummins is similar to the P4500 but has a larger engine and therefore offers more power. This model brings 5500 watts of peak power to the table and this is enough to support most applications. It is ideal for home use as standby power, its portability options make it excellent to serve as a emergency power supply, and due to its large output it can even handle some small scale commercial uses. If you are looking for a generator with all the assets at a great price, this is definitely a worthy candidate.

The P5000e is powered by a 389 cc 13 hp OHV engine capable of producing 5500 watts max and 5000 watts rated. It operates on 230 volts and at a 50 Hz frequency. There is also a 12V DC 8.3 amp DC output. The engine produces a 76 dBA noise level which is a little loud but should not cause any disturbances.

It has a 24.6 gallon fuel tank. This is the same size as the P4500; however, the P4500 has a longer runtime because of its smaller engine. The extra power brings runtimes for the P5000e to about 9 hours of continuous use @ rated load.

In addition to the standard manual start there is an electric start feature. This electric start definitely adds convenience. The manual function is not necessarily that hard actually it is quite simple. Yet, the electric offers reliability and ensures fast, easy start up every time. It also features a dual element air cleaner, circuit breakers, integral battery tray, and a cast iron cylinder sleeve.

The P5000e is also insured with a 2 year limited warranty from Cummins. In addition, they also offer 24/7 customer service.

Cummins P2200Comments (0)

Filed under: Cummins — ltcobretti @ 6:04 am

The Cummins P2200 is a 50 Hz portable generator designed to offer a strong output, have a lengthy runtime, and be highly mobile all while retaining a low price tag. This model is excellent for emergency back up power partially due to its sleek portable design. Weighing just over 100 pounds and coming with an optional wheel kit, definitely makes this power supply versatile. No matter the terrain this machine can provide immediate power in emergency settings. It is also very efficient for use as standby power at your home or vacation cabin.

The 6.5 hp 196 cc OHV engine produces 2200 watts of peak AC power and 2000 watts of rated power. It operates at 230V. The convenient 12V DC output allows for easy charging of batteries. At 68 dBA, the engine operates fairly quietly. This should not cause any disturbances, yet consumers should note that it is advised to isolate these generators from surrounding neighbors.

The P2200 model comes fully equipped with a massive 15 liter fuel tank. This supports runtimes for up to 13 hours. This is a very efficient model with a lot of endurance to get the job done. Refueling can be a nuisance and often result in major delays. When quick continuous emergency power is required this machine excels beyond expectations.

It has a manual start. Some people prefer the highly convenient electric start; however, even the manual system is quite easy to operate and usually saves you money. There are several safety features embedded within this system. One of the most important is the low oil shutoff. This is an extremely helpful feature that prevents unnecessary wear and often severe engine damage from overheating. Another essential safety precaution is circuit breaker protection. This prevents overloading and surges. Not only does this protect your generator but also all of your connected devices as well.

To ensure that each and every unit functions properly; this model is insured with a 2 year limited warranty. Many generators only offer a one year warranty. Although most of these generators are very reliable and durable, the extra year definitely offers comfort and security.

CODELCO is the largest copper mining company and they have a new project in northern Chile. This project focuses on the Gaby copper mine, which is very isolated and difficult to reach. CODELCO needed a significant power system in place to develop operations and construct their work site. They were also concerned about approaching deadlines and needed a fast and efficient power supply immediately. Aggreko is one of the most productive temporary/ portable generator companies and has an extensive reputation for their work. CODELCO chose Aggreko to satisfy their power needs because of their excellent history but more importantly because they were able to meet strict deadlines. Aggreko quickly provided a 5 MW system to power operations on the copper site. This temporary power system runs constantly and is maintained by a team of Aggreko engineers. Overall, this collaboration will increase the world’s supply of copper, which means good things for the Chile. Estimates indicate that it will boost Chile’s economy immensely.
