Yamaha EF2400iS

Filed under: Yamaha, Inverters — ltcobretti @ 8:30 am

Yamaha’s 2007 Inverter EF2400iS is a quiet and lightweight generator that produces 2400 watts and has the capability to be connected to another EF2400iS for a total AC output of 4600 watts. This is excellent for powering many devices including RV AC units. It is not very loud at 53- 58 dBA and should not bother people even at short distances. Noise levels are often a large concern when operating in close or crowded areas and many other generators are quite loud. This is definitely an advantage of the EF2400iS. Another one is its size. Weighing only 70 pounds makes it convenient to transport and operate in confined areas.

Its OHV, air-cooled, single cylinder engine has 171 cc of displacement and 5.5 hp. The max AC output is 2400W while the rated AC output is 2000W. It also has a 12V DC outlet for charging batteries.

This model comes equipped with an auto decompression system to ease starting. Yamaha’s smart throttle regulates engine speed to increase efficiency by reducing fuel consumption. This enables operation for up to 8.6 hours @ ¼ rated load. There is a multipole alternator, fuel gauge, oil watch to prevent engine damage, and an electrical overload breaker for safety. A muffler, rubber vibration isolation feet, and Noise Block are implemented to reduce noise levels. Its inverter system with pulse width modulation control cleans the electricity for use with microcomputer devices.
